they typically just have a raised pedestal & chain the dog into it so they can never transfer their heads. Your dog sleeping might be from the soap or perhaps the loss of hair. I dont know why people would make a diference but yah…

You dog may just be worn out from all of the excitement. Groomers should NOT be giving animals any medication whatsoever.

I would certainly ask before leaving my dog. They need permission to give your dog anything.
Maybe your dog is just sleeping from the humilation of having its fur taken away.

I know cats freak out from being shaved.

If they are drugging up your doggie i would demand to knwo what they are giving the pampered pooch for we as concerned pet owners must know why waldo is so sleepy

No! It would be illegal for them to give your dog medication of any sort with out your knowlage not to mention bad side effects to the dog for medication etc. given.

Dog groomers may ask you if they can partially sedate your dog for grooming if they are particularily difficult, but most likely, your pup is just tired from the actual grooming. The bath, grooming, drying, etc. are a very tiring experience, not to mention watching the other dogs.

grooming can be stressful.. lots of barking and commotion

a good groomer will keep your dog for no longer than 3 hours.. I know some check dogs in at 9:am and then send home at 5:pm.. this is terribly hard on the dogs

SOME groomers DO give sedatives to dogs BUT this is WRONG, without your permission AND vet approval this should NEVER be done – in fact if you suspect it has been done you should take your dog to the vet for blood test and can charge the groomer with endangering your dog…
I would ask them in future if they have done this, maybe your dog is a brat and they just figured they would sedate it to make things easier for themself…

normally a groomer wouldnt do this, but unethical ones might
