Its all great and all… but she grabs his muzzle too much… methinks… Rosie seems very tame for such roughish handling…

What a beautiful poodle! She is so well behaved
My dog wiggles when the groomer shaves and cuts his hair

@LLLTTTCCC its all about preference….if you are just starting out Andis is a good brand. My first pair of clippers were Andis AGC Super 2 speed. They are anout $120-$150 if i’m not mistaken. They are pretty sturdy and get the job done and they last a long time…hope this helps.

what a horrible cut on that dog. I agree not a very good groomer. Just because the dog in not a show dog or competition dog doesnt mean she shouldnt look good!!!
August 30th, 2010 at 12:21 am
i agree with ardneish , she really is not a very good example of a groomer , im a groomer too with c+g in grooming and my advanced grooming diplomas , also won 4 grooming comps so i know what im talking about , i go to shows and seminars so i keep learning about tecniques and styles , my clients get the best possible groom think i will have to do some post on here !

overall finished look of this poodle is poor. Why is it so short all over? Bad exaple of how to achieve a GOOD look
August 30th, 2010 at 2:03 am
she did alright, the only comment i have is her technique with her scissors. She hacks a little too much.
August 30th, 2010 at 2:22 am
i totaly agree. i am a dog groomer, and i have a standard poodle that i adopted.. i lucked out that he is very good for everything.
August 30th, 2010 at 2:24 am
A dog should be groomed as though the groomer will be judged on it. No matter if it’s a pet or show or competition. I don’t liek that it’s fine if it’s not perfect because it’s not a competition. Every dog I groom has to be as perfect as I can make it, no matter what.

thank you so much I was having a difficult time with the tops of my toy and mini poodles this helps a lot!!!!
August 30th, 2010 at 3:16 am
I don’t think this is a very good video about grooming your poodle because you need to know that everyone is not as perfect as you trimming poodles head.
August 30th, 2010 at 3:26 am
crazy scissors.. watch out for them eyes.. she did that too fast. like really fast. i take forever. jeeze this makes me feel slow.
August 30th, 2010 at 3:37 am
As a judge and exhibitor of poodles
I am cringing watching this video
why are you using curved shank scissors on a top knot?
and why are you not warning people about pointing the scissor AWAY from the eyes
your video is made in good will
but most watchers dogs will not be standing this still
This is a job for proffesional well trained people dogs can be seriousy injured by inexperienced owners

I adopted a 5yr old poodle the same color and he was never groomed the right way by his 1st owner. I always thought he was ugly until I adopted him and learned how to groom him from watching videos. He looks cute now! Thanks

August 30th, 2010 at 7:04 am
Very helpful! Thank you- I’m a first time poodle owner (standard) and loving it!!!
August 30th, 2010 at 7:28 am
i am a groomer myself and run my own business. you can make a lot of money working for yourself and NOT working in a salon, if you make house calls!! you don’t need to pay any rent on a location that way and customers LOVE that you come to them and their dog feels more relaxed that way.
August 30th, 2010 at 7:48 am
hah was that a christmas tree dyed on the back of that dog? how funny
August 30th, 2010 at 8:47 am
does anyone know what brush she used at 0:55 to 1:00??? thanksss
August 30th, 2010 at 9:45 am
@TheDogVlog5774 Most of the use Manic Panic. It’s an all natural hair dye. You can find the dye at Sally’s, Spencers, etc
August 30th, 2010 at 10:12 am
When they dye dogs hair don’t they you a special dye that is natural and doesnt harm the dog?
August 30th, 2010 at 10:18 am
at 1:48 its so cute
August 30th, 2010 at 10:34 am
Ok ive been a groomer for alil over 5 years .there is very good money in grooming if skills are utilized properly there is no money in owning your own shop because you are solely responsible for all the overhead ,I personally am thrilled when i get an owner who will allow me to dye thier dog .They have some amazing skills displayed in this video .

im a groomer, love my job, people will treat u good if u earn their respect, & show them tht ur worth their respect. grooming is not for everybody, so if u dnt enjoy it, dnt do it. i loved this vid. im jealous of their talent!! most ordinary groomers couldnt do this kind of work… probably the ones hating on the vid… if u have sumthn negative to say, just go elsewhere… loved the vid! cute doggies!
August 30th, 2010 at 12:03 pm
@djinla2000 I am a dog groomer, and it pays well if A) you are a good groomer and B) if your salon is run properly. And if you don’t enjoy it you are in the wrong job. Just my opinion
Oh, and this is an advert for a series of dvd’s demonstrating techniques, not the actual running of a business.
August 30th, 2010 at 12:24 pm
i dont know whare you live but in most states you have to be 18 in order to learn how to groom. but that dosent mean that you cant do your research and learn as much as you can about the different hair cut that way when you are old enough you will be able to learn faster!
and please dont be put off by other pepoles comments grooming can be really fun!!
August 30th, 2010 at 1:16 pm
well then why bother grooming? if you dont love what you do then you need a new job.
i love grooming mainly because it dosent feel like a job cause i get to play with dogs all day.
if your nice and you care and are loving to the animals then there should be no problems. maybe your not the best person to be giving advice.
August 30th, 2010 at 1:29 pm
I agree I own a pet grooming shop and this shows nothing!
August 30th, 2010 at 2:29 pm
The color is all natural and it does not bother them at all.
Poor dogs that don’t get groomed because there owners are to cheap!
August 30th, 2010 at 2:31 pm
I own a pet grooming shop, and I just wanted to let you know that there is not all that much fun in pet grooming it’s a lot of work for very little money!
And people don’t treat groomers very well.
Get a good paying desk job!

August 30th, 2010 at 5:05 pm
poor dogs who have there hair colored!
August 30th, 2010 at 5:39 pm
While I enjoyed the video it didn’t help me at all in learing how to groom a dog. As a groomer I am always looking for new ideas and learning how other do things. This didnt help it was entertaining though
August 30th, 2010 at 6:16 pm
Video is great…but the fact that they spelled “breed” as bread in the description just kills me.
August 30th, 2010 at 7:08 pm
humans come from apes.
we’re domesticated apes.
cooking is retarded. we should all just pick bugs off eachother and eat that…….
August 30th, 2010 at 7:10 pm
Do you even know what you’re talking about? At all???
All natural dyes are used. The dogs dog care what they look like. You really think dogs sit there and laugh at three-legged Spot over there? No. They don’t care!
August 30th, 2010 at 7:52 pm
that christmas tree bichon is adorable!
August 30th, 2010 at 8:14 pm
dogs come from wolves.
there domisticated wolves.
and all this fancy grooming is just retarted. dogs are not humans.
