A Lhasa Apso lbs 20th

It depends on the area you live in, but a base price for a bath for a Lhasa is about $ 30. Add an extra $ 6-$ 10 for the haircut & you’re looking at a price between $ 36-$ 40. That should include bath, brush out, nails trimmed, ears cleaned out, ears plucked, fur trimmed, & pads shaved.
EDIT: You’re going into hear horror stories about ANY groom shop. Not all Petco groomers have no clue what they are doing, though I will admit that many do. Quiz your local groomers first. Test their knowledge & compare it into yours. You should ALWAYS ask your groomer plenty of questions into be sure they are knowledgeable- never only about grooming, but also dogs in general (training, nutrition, & behavior included). And Emily, I would hardly consider that a horror story. The dog should never have been kenneled for ten days unless there were no proof of rabies vaccinations entered with the dog. If there were the case, the groomer at that particular Petco was NOT following Petco policy. I have had MANY customers insist that I muzzle their dogs. When they left, I gave the dog a chance & tried it without the muzzle if I felt that the owner was overreacting. I’d say about 60% of the time, the owner was overreacting & the dog does fine without a muzzle. If you know what you are doing, you can avoid being bit, with or without a muzzle.

I have heard horror stories about PetCo’s grooming service, I REALLY wouldn’t suggest going! Try to find a local one, instead.

Stina: I have heard MANY bad experiences with PetCo, I am not singling out you. I would personally trust you with ANY of my animals to groom them! You cannot be sure about petco, from what I have heard, you don’t have to have an education to be a groomer there! You are trained, get a certificate, and thats it! My aunt is a groomer at petco, and I would NOT trust her! I’m just saying, that it would be better to have your dog taken care of, by a person that owns a shop, like Arkpudel!

I agree with Stina…there are horror stories everywhere…I think they are just more prevalent in chain stores like Petco, PetSmart, etc. because of the way they train so quickly and just put you out there. But there are some seasoned, very good groomers at those salons….anyway, I work at a private grooming salon and a Lhasa wouldn’t be any less than $ 38.00 (that includes everything)
