Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Especially the idea of washing him from the grooming table
Only I am having problems on finding where to purchase the stones to strip the saddle :/ I also intend on trying A’s reccomendation although the Laser Lites have been making the job easier
)))
Any known handlers in my area would be great too lol (we had to relocate a bit north from New Orleans and no pros up here

Can you always use that pumice stone or do you have to remove the back hair before using it? Within a few weeks my puppy afghan arrives and i want to groom it so it looks perfect for showing? How can i do it the same why as your afghan?
Thanks from the netherlands!

It is a pumice stone and can be used instead of plucking the saddle hairs. Great video. I like the way you show not to scrub which causes matting. The cold water from the hose isn’t uncomfortable? After 13 years without an Afghan hound, I have been blessed with one and life feels lighter and more joyful.

Contrary to popular believe an afghan hound with proper silky coat is less work than a maltese (grooming wise) as they can go a week to 10 days without being groomed. They are single coated and maltese are double coated.
I teach my afghan hounds to lye on their sides for grooming, that way they can sleep while being groomed and the groomer can sit and watch TV while brushing.
Thanks for the nice compliments!
